The Canadian Music Week Preview
Updated: Dec 11, 2019
Canadian Music Week is taking place in at the Sheraton Centre Downtown in Toronto April 18 to 23. Greg Simpson has been working them since 1993, and tells us what to expect this year, how the conference has evolved to include digital, and the value in attending.
The venerable conference has been the premier place for radio, music and now digital people to network and share ideas.
Please take the opportunity to shine a spotlight on one of the rising stars in your chain, as CMW and “Friends of Steve Young” once again salute Steve with the “Allan Waters Young Broadcaster of the Year Award in Honour of Steve Young”.
The winning recipient’s travel, accommodation and CMW registration will be covered so they can receive this award in person at Canadian Music Week, April 17-22. The two runners-up will also be recognized for their contributions.
Deadline for entries has been extended to Tuesday, Jan 31, 2017 at midnight EST.
This week's episode is sponsored by PromoSuite - who will also be in attendance at Canadian Music Week. If you are going, be sure to say hello to Rachel, CJ and Rocco and thank them for supporting this podcast.
Two Shameless Plugs:
If your radio station needs an extra voice for commercials because every spot on is voiced by the same person, my company has male and female reader who can alleviate the stress. Turnaround time is same day. Some stations have signed on for a one time monthly retainer and the best part is staying in budget. Just e-mail me for a price that will suit your budget needs. Include your station's call letters and how much work you need done.
This Week Broadcast Dialogue published I article I wrote about the things I learned in 2016; many while producing the podcast. Have a read.
