Jeff Woods returns to the show. He was a guest way way back in 2016 in Episode 2. Back then we spoke about his (then) new book, Radio, Records and Rockstars. Shortly after came the creation of a successful radio show and podcast. In this episode you will hear his process of creating an episode, the non-use of AI in research, and the influence of the late Bob Mackowycz on his career, and Woods' affinity for new music and live performances.
Jeff discusses his experience in radio and podcasting, as well as his new book about relationships and sexuality. Additionally, he highlights the motivation behind his book and the importance of promoting acceptance and understanding of diverse sexualities.
Just launched! Kickstarter to fund my second non-fiction book, the story of which you’ll find, along with so-called “backer rewards”, on the Jeff Woods Being Bi Kickstarter. It’s only on for a limited time. Link above. If you like what you see, please share. And thanks for your support.
In 2018, after fifty years of living in fear, I came out as bi. Because I felt it the right thing to do. For me. And then to begin to take a step from ally, to card carrying bisexual. And it started to feel right to add the word activist to that. A role of shedding a big bright light on the least talked about community in the rainbow. My thinking? That if the tattooed neck-to-knee motorbike riding rock radio DJ can do it, perhaps other men can do it too.
The catalyst for the book is Jeff's most recent podcast, The Blue Hotel.
Many of the stories in the book are from the collection of interviews and stories from the show.
Finally - if you are a program or content director at radio, please consider bringing this show on. You will get a full hour long version - the podcast you see below is a shorter form show you can also embed to your website.
